Two curriculums we focus on at Growing Minds are PEAK and AIM:
PEAK (Promoting the Emergence of Advanced Knowledge) is an evidence-based assessment and curriculum designed to teach and measure both foundational and advanced cognitive and language skills. It focuses on traditional behavioural skills like receptive language, imitation, and matching, while also targeting higher-order relational learning, such as abstract thinking, perspective-taking, problem solving, and generalization.
On the other hand, the AIM Curriculum integrates principles of ABA with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support social-emotional learning, self-regulation, psychological flexibility, and mindfulness. AIM focuses on helping children develop the ability to identify their emotions, accept their experiences, make value-driven choices, and take committed action, particularly in challenging or emotionally charged situations.
Together, PEAK and AIM provide a comprehensive behavioural and psychological framework, equipping learners with not only communication and cognitive skills, but also the resilience and emotional tools needed to navigate complex social environments.
